2016 was quite a year for Johan Kruger. First he gave up his safe Stellenbosch job to go it alone and make his award-winning kit for Naked. Then, when Angels got a taste of his stupidly delicious wines, you nominated him for Winemaker of the Year!
Johan heard he’d been nominated on his son Matteo’s birthday. He felt honoured, and humbled, and determined to pay back the amazing Angels who voted for him, by making a truly spectacular wine. Funding allowed him to get his hands on some truly top-notch fruit and reserve juice and they came together perfectly...
This is a complex wine with dense flavours. Shiraz, Pinotage and Cab Sauv give it a lovely backbone of dark, brooding fruit and peppery complexity, while a splash of Merlot softens the finish to silky-smooth.

Claudio had previously sold all his juice to the big wineries for supermarket blends but Carlos realised straightaway that the grapes were too good for that so he sent us some samples and we couldn’t say yes fast enough!
From the finest 40 year old Tempranillo vines comes this single vineyard Rioja that’s brimming with intense fruit, vanilla and chocolate aromas and flavours. In 2018, Eamon our wine guy was on the ground in Spain when he stumbled across a winery tucked away in a small town called Lerma and he was so blown away, we bought the lot.
That blend didn't hit the spot for many of you... So we went back to the drawing board and supercharged the blend with some seriously special Especial juice.

My Rebel Shiraz is made with grapes from 4 different vineyards. The real trick is to wait for the full, ripe flavours to develop in the vineyard. After leaving the grapes to cold soak for a couple of days they're pressed and matured separately before blending into the final balanced wine.
This wine sure packs a punch for it's price tag!!!! It has sooooo much flavour and depth, you won't believe you can pick this up for the Angel price! It's a wine for lovers of rich and full bodied reds, the flavours are full of ripe plum and berry fruit, with hints of chocolate and spice.
A full, rich and deliciously smooth wine like this can handle a bit of heat from the kitchen... try it with Piri Piri chicken.
