About this case

When we made our first ever boxed wine a couple of years ago, we weren’t sure if Angels would go for it. So we put it to a vote. We asked if we should go big on boxed wine in the future and a whopping 54,356 Angels gave us a resounding ‘YES’.
It was a no-brainer to give Ben and Rod’s 95%-rated unique Sauvignon Blanc with French charm and Kiwi throttle the big 2.25L box treatment. Boxed wine produces up to 10 times less CO2 than a traditional glass bottle equivalent - so you get the win-win of enjoying Ben and Rod's bestseller with a clear conscience, all the while getting a heck of a lot more bang for your buck.

Limoux is a legendary spot for crafting sparkling wines. In fact, it's where the "bottle fermentation" process (that we now know as "Méthode Traditionnelle") was first discovered. That makes it the first sparkling wine made in France... step aside Champers.
This very unique Crémant proves the immense quality of Limoux sparkling wine. It combines Chardonnay, Chenin and Mauzac (a grape native to the area), to create a fabulous structure and minerality. It's incredibly distinctive and brimming over with style.
Francoise and Baptiste pressed the grapes incredibly delicately to ensure not a drop of flavour was lost. This gives the wine a glorious pale yellow colour with delicate aromas of white flowers, juicy fruits and just a hint of honey. My Old Vines Chenin Blanc comes from a very unique older vineyard, planted in 1977 on the Voorgroenberg Mountain in Wellington at around 400 meters above sea level.
These older vines give lower yields, thus a big concentration and complexity of flavors with the decomposed granite soils adding deep mineral and fresh natural acid characters, making it a world class example of what Chenin Blanc can taste like.
Granite, dusty minerality, quince, citrus, pineapple and herbs come together on a complex nose, with these flavours following through on the palate. The palate is fresh, delicate, yet powerful and rich all at the same time, in typical Old Vines style.

Not just a Shiraz superstar, when award-winning Aussie winemaker Peter ‘Juicy’ Gajewski came to us saying he wanted to make a delicious ‘Chardy’ for his white-wine-loving Angels, there was no way we could pass up on the offer.
Like his reds, Juicy’s Chardonnay comes from the Scott’s Creek vineyard he helped plant as a boy. After a 40-plus year relationship, you’d be hard pressed to find a winemaker more in tune with his grapes than he is. And for this wine, he harvested the fruit in 2 batches - the first with higher natural acidity (the structure that holds a wine together), and the second with more punchy fruit characters - which he blended together to create this perfectly balanced Chardonnay with mouthwatering flavour and complexity.
Crowd-pleasing Aussie Chardonnay like this was made to enjoy over long, lazy sunday lunches with a few good mates. It’s crisp and refreshing, with yummy flavours of tropical fruit and lemon, and a soft, round, peachy mouthfeel.

Our first ever Gavi de Gavi, first vintage landed back in 2016 and it's been going strong since then! We wanted to show off the very best of our region, Central Piedmont, the home to such a special wine, that you can only find here, and nowhere else.
Known as the ‘Chablis of Italy’, Gavi de Gavi is made from the Cortese grape. It’s fresh, crisp, vibrant, super dry with subtle notes of peach, pear and citrus, and a steely minerality on the finish.

I have a great passion for the indigenous white varieties growing in Italy. The coast of Tuscany is famous in Italy for being the best places to grow Vermentino, and I wanted to show off this wonderful grape to the Angels in the UK.
Naked Wines have given me the opportunity to find the best block grapes in a vineyard in the incredible landscape of Tuscany, right next to the sea.
The wine is very crisp and mineral, with floral and almost salty notes due to the Vineyard's prime location. It's a complex wine with an unusual longevity for a white varietal.

After Ben’s Chablis vineyards were devastated by frosts for the second time in 4 years, he was left thinking ‘here we go again’.

The Lucien Lurton family have been making wine for generations, all the while chasing the next best winemaking region to work their magic on. Drawn to the finesse and style of Sauternes & Barsac, the sweet wines of Bordeaux, the family embarked on blending their very own Sauternes.
This is one of just a few Sauternes produced in 2018. It was a very challenging year in Bordeaux, with a rogue spring frost destroying much of the harvest. Fortunately, you've struck upon one of just a handful of producers who were able to fend off the frost and preserve some really exciting Sauternes parcels.
A glorious bright golden colour, with a strikingly aromatic nose of peach, honey, candied dried fruit and elegant white flowers. Super fresh and sweet on the palate, developing in the mouth to become much fuller and round before reaching a lovely long finish.
