The grapes for this wine are from my family's Rutherglen vineyards and fruit grown in the rich soils of Heathcote in Central Victoria. Post fermentation each parcel was pressed and matured in both new and seasoned American and French oak barrels for 12 months, before blending prior to bottling.
My Hero range of wines really offer the best bang for your buck, they're made from hand selected parcels of premium fruit. My Shiraz in particular works so well with food, you should give it a try!
This wine has such a lovely deep red colour, with red and black berry flavours and spicy overtones. It's a medium to full bodied wine with hints of chocolate, there's a lovely richness to the wine, and the oak just finishes the wine off perfectly - it's the ideal wine if you're looking to add a bit of spice to your life!

Having lived her for 20 years, I think Corbieres may be one of the most unspoilt areas of France. I wanted to make a wine that reflected the beauty yet wildness of this area. To show that with a little care and attention it was possible to come up with a superior style packed full of the fruit, wild herbs and individual character of the area.
Angels voted in their masses for this wine during the Summer Tasting Tour to make my dream a reality. I thought I had something rather special but it is great to have the 'yes' vote from the Angels.
I am a sucker for the traditional rustic Carignan grape and in this wine it is balanced perfectly with the graceful Syrah and fruity smooth Grenache. The fruit is dark and ripe with notes of wild herbs - rosemary, thyme, pepper and liquorice! The barrel ageing helps to soften the wine and control the wild rustic character.

As a Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay fanatic I thought these should be the leading components of the Angels Selection. After many days of blending and looking at possible partners for the Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay I stumbled upon this lovely third C called Colombard, the wine just lifted the already fruity nose into a new dimension.
Naked helped me fund this amazing and exciting project. If not the case, these wines would have possibly been sold in bulk and this bottle of pleasure would never have been able to reach you. Well done Naked for having a nose to smell out the best.
The Chardonnay gives this wine depth, a creamy mouthfeel and some exciting minerality, the pineapple and lovely tropical fruit come from the Chenin Blanc and the third C, Colombard just lifts the nose with citrus and a spicy edge on the finish. . . YUMMY!
