Pinot Gris has been grown in the Pfalz region for some time. I love Pinot Gris as a wine… it is literally a Pinot Noir with no colour. It can be just as complex, and the finest examples are quite challenging to make.
I wanted to make a fresher style of Pinot Gris which still has richness, texture and a sense of place. To do this I selected 3 vineyard sites (hence the *3*) for the project. The different vineyards all contribute to the complexity of the wine.
The outcome is something pretty special. Succulent ripe fruity flavours of apple, melon and pear with a rich textural quality and a fresh crisp finish.

In Rioja we have really good conditions for white wines, even if we’ve always been recognized for our reds!
We had a strike of luck in the region around 25 years ago with the appearance of a new grape variety called Tempranillo Blanco. From one shoot 25 years ago, now we have around 500 hectares in the Rioja region and the possibility to enjoy a delicious new grape variety.
It’s a fresh and crispy white wine with pear and apple in the nose and a rounded mouth feeling with a great balance. It’s an opportunity for Angels to try something really different and exclusive.

We have such diverse white varieties at Sainte Rose that we wanted to try an ‘assemblage’ to highlight the best of each grape variety. Blends like this often end up being more exotic and interesting than single varietal wines, with far more character and quaffability!
Angels have been asking us for a top notch, easy-drinking, southern French sipper. The support of Angel funding has given us the confidence and flexibility to produce the best and most interesting white wine possible.
Using the field blend concept we picked Muscat, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Marsanne over a 24 hr period, resulting in a unique blend with a huge spectrum of flavours including grapefruit, guava, peach, and other exotic fruits.
