I'm really interested in showing Sauvignon Blanc from lesser known regions in New Zealand. Waipara's version is typically more understated with quite a different structure to the palate. It's like a cross between a Kiwi Sauvignon and a good Sancerre.
Naked have been amazing in supporting my endeavours to produce interesting and delicious wines from small and often unknown regions. Thanks to them I have been able to concentrate on picking, pressing, fermenting and blending these unique wines for Angels.
This one is a true Waipara style with stonefruits, golden kiwifruit and green plums. Luscious on the palate with plenty of ripe fruits, weighty mid palate and a satisfyingly fresh finish. I like to think of it as a Sauvignon with a difference!

The Cutler Sauvigon Blanc is made from vineyards in two parts of South Africa - Elim and Elgin. The grapes in Elim are grown at low altitude, but close to the sea where the coastal conditions cool the grapes and give a saline note that's typical of this area, whilst he Elgin vineyards are grown in the coolest climate in South Africa on shale and granite conditions which help to give the grapes a wonderful minerality. Both areas work together to show precise and focused flavours with great amounts of natural acidity.
I have made this wine from parcels usually reserved for more expensive wines. Luckily as I know the growers well, I have managed to secure them for a keen price so that the Angels can benefit from an excellent wine at a great price.
This wine is from a cooler climate, so you can expect more mineral, herbal and fern-like characters instead of the full on tropical fruit you might see in a New Zealand Sauvignon. As a Sauvignon it will drink beautifully in its youth and at any time of the year, by itself in the warmer months or with some autumnal and winter dishes (especially fish) when the weather is colder.

When I was a young winemaker I made a Rosé wine in Provence, but the rules for this area dictated how it should be, so I couldn't express myself. Now I've had the chance to make one for Naked, I want to show that Languedoc is able to make Rosé as good or even better than in Provence.
Thanks to Naked Wines I have been able to purchase quality old vine Carignan grapes and make the best possible wine for the Angels. I've blended these with a little Cinsault to produce this fresh and elegant wine.
This wine is an attractive medium rosé colour, with a fruity and floral nose and an explosion of strawberry, raspberry and red fruit flavours. I was looking for the perfect balance between acidity, fruitiness, freshness and minerality - not too pale nor too strong, just perfect!
