After 10 years discovering incredible wines for Angels, our old Wine Guy Ray O’Connor left in early 2024 to “scratch a few itches.” Now he’s back – but on the other side of the cellar.

His new project, Bota Bota, marks his winemaking debut: a trio of old vine wines – red, white and rosé – from the little town of Almonacid de la Sierra in northern Spain. Those deep old vines produce fewer grapes but incredible flavour. Each wine is organic and made with minimal intervention for a vibrant, fruity character. Ray calls them “pure happy juice” – so expect instant pleasure in every sip.
