We’ve made $5 million available to help struggling wineries to survive and come out the other side of this Covid crisis. The closure of bars and restaurants across the globe has been a disaster for the independent winemakers who supply them. The little guys, without connections to the big supermarkets, are the ones who are suffering the most.
Nuria Altés and Rafael de Haan, from the Terra Alta region of Spain, are the exact kind of people we were hoping to help with our Covid-19 support fund. The events of the past couple of months have hit their business hard. The top-end restaurants, hotels and bars that were their main customers have been closed. Leaving them with a lot of unsold wine.
A rounded and full white with aromas of fresh melon and juicy pears, with a refreshing citrusy finish. It's young and fresh, but grown on old vines, giving it a delicious complexity and balance.

I have a great passion for the indigenous white varieties growing in Italy. The coast of Tuscany is famous in Italy for being the best places to grow Vermentino, and I wanted to show off this wonderful grape to the Angels in the UK.
Naked Wines have given me the opportunity to find the best block grapes in a vineyard in the incredible landscape of Tuscany, right next to the sea.
The wine is very crisp and mineral, with floral and almost salty notes due to the Vineyard's prime location. It's a complex wine with an unusual longevity for a white varietal.

Limoux is a legendary spot for crafting sparkling wines. In fact, it's where the "bottle fermentation" process (that we now know as "Méthode Traditionnelle") was first discovered. That makes it the first sparkling wine made in France... step aside Champers.
This very unique Crémant proves the immense quality of Limoux sparkling wine. It combines Chardonnay, Chenin and Mauzac (a grape native to the area), to create a fabulous structure and minerality. It's incredibly distinctive and brimming over with style.
Francoise and Baptiste pressed the grapes incredibly delicately to ensure not a drop of flavour was lost. This gives the wine a glorious pale yellow colour with delicate aromas of white flowers, juicy fruits and just a hint of honey. In the mouth it's suuuper fresh, combining ripe citrus flavours with creamy decadence.

When we asked Angels whether they wanted an entry-level rosé from Sicily, or to see how much more complexity and concentration an extra £2 a bottle could deliver, 67% voted for this super-premium rosé from Puglia.
Imagine walking through a summer garden, smelling orange blossom, red berries and violets. Followed by a nice fruit cocktail on the patio, made from the ripest strawberries and blueberries you’ve ever tasted.

To keep hold of the fantastic array of aromas from the specially-selected, hand-picked grapes, this wine was made at low-temperatures and boy oh boy are we glad it was.
The colour is pale yellow with greenish hues. For taste, think white fruit and subtle floral notes with a good whack of minerality on the finish. Pow!
With its fruity, fresh mouth feel it pairs well with steamed vegetables, or pasta topped with cheesy or creamy sauce.

Núria Altés comes from a long line of grape-growers. From playing in her grandfather’s vines as a child to bottling her first wine with her father’s grapes, Núria is proud of her winemaking roots. So in 2010 Núria and her partner Rafael set up a little winery in the Terra Alta region - called Herència Altés.
This pale rose is made from 100% Grenache grapes grown from super rare vines ranging from 40 to 90 years old - much like Nuria and Rafael, these vines are seasoned professionals. It's deliciously dry and cooly refreshing with delicate rose and fresh strawberry flavours.
Lovely with your favourite canapés and especially lovely with sunshine. Or if you fancy tucking this one away for a rainy day that's no biggy for L'Espontania, it's a bottle guaranteed to bring the sunshine to you.
