Tenuta Oderisio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019
Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Mario and Simona's Montepulciano has been generations in the making
- What the di Candilos don't know about Montepulciano really isn't worth knowing. This father and daughter duo live and breath Montpulciano d'Abruzzo on their family vineyard where they've been cultivating premium vines first planted by Mario's grandfather, and making the most exceptional Montepulciano to boot.
- The juice in this bottle comes from those very same vines - deep ruby red in colour with rich aromas of violets and cocoa on the nose, you barely even need to drink it to become totally enthralled.
- The palate is elegant with soft tannins, lots of jammy red berries and just the slightest touch of a cracked black peppery kick, giving this bottle the kind of length you'd expect from a drop double the price.

Food match
The acidity, freshness and elegant tannins allow Montepulciano wines to adapt to many meals. We suggest pairing with a lamb roast, lasagna, or a rich mushroom risotto.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mario and Simona di Candilo
- Mario and Simona are born winemakers - the TLC they put into just one bottle is enough to leave most mere mortals needing a good lie down. They are a father and daughter duo who thrive under the pressure of a busy harvest - in fact the whole family rolls up their sleeves to support them, with Simona's two younger sisters and Mario's wife on hand to help run the winery itself.
- With winemaking roots harking back four generations, their drive has been handed down through the years and centres around their love for Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. It's one very small grape that represents a whole lot more for Mario, Simona and their family winery.
- 'The path is never easy. There are many difficulties to face and sometimes the strength is lacking, but the love for this job is greater. Our greatest joys are our customers and seeing their faces smile and appreciate our wines is our greatest achievement.' Mario and Simona, Winemakers
