Olivier Cazenave Franc de Bel Bordeaux
Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
A unique Bordeaux from a true pioneer
- This is not your typical wine coming from Bordeaux. It is a 100% Cabernet Franc grape, non vintage solera; a blend of 7 different vintages topped up each year.
- Olivier is one of those pioneers that we more often associate with the young, forward thinking winemakers that we work with in the Languedoc than Bordeaux. In deciding to adopt a completely holistic approach to wine making and farming he embraced organic principles from the outset, moving to biodynamics in 2016.
The vineyards of Chateau de Bel are located on a gentle sloping plateaux on the edge of the Dordogne river, where the soils are composed of well drained sandy clay overlying beds of gravel. Vineyards have been planted here since at least the 17th century and the reputation of the site for good wines has long been acknowledged.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Olivier Cazenave
- Olivier Cazenave is a rare breed... the most radical wine grower you'll find in the historically posh and stuffy Bordeaux region.
- He developed a taste for wine aged 17, but Olivier didn’t realise he could turn his passion into a career until he was 40. He started making wine in 2003, in the middle of a downturn in the region “you would have to be crazy to buy a property in Bordeaux in 2003”.
- Olivier may hail from an ultra-famous wine region, but you probably haven’t heard of him... and that’s a good thing. He’s one of the region’s best kept secrets and he wants to prove that you can find outstanding value in Bordeaux.
