About the wine
Connie's Carmenere Gran Reserva is quite possibly the ultimate winter red
- Connie's Carmenere Gran Reserva is quite possibly the ultimate winter red. It’s big, rich and powerful, dripping with lush black fruit, chocolate, vanilla and spices. The nose is as bright as Rudolph’s, the mouthfeel soft and smooth, and it’s so easy-drinking and moreish, it’s like a big warm hug from Santa.
- If you’re not familiar with Carmenere, it’s a wine that’s got something for everyone. The power of a Cabernet, the softness of a Merlot, the silky smoothness of a Malbec. And Connie has given her Gran Reserva the Rolls-Royce treatment, ageing it in French oak to deepen the flavours to a ridiculously yummy level.
- It’ll handle everything from the big Christmas roast to the post-charades munchies. And it’ll still be warming your tummy as you drift off to sleep on the sofa with the party hat slipped over your eyes.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Constanza and Mariane Schwaderer
-
To growers back home in Chile, Connie’s a bit of a folk hero: she backs tiny vineyards, pays fairer prices, and fights for old-school Chilean varieties farmed the traditional way. That rebel streak got her the sack at a big winery (their loss) but turned out to be her making. Angels funded her first vintage, and she’s been part of the Naked story since the beginning (fun fact: she was literally our first-ever winemaker).
-
Marianne is Connie’s half-sister and these days, very much her partner-in-crime. They grew up apart (Connie in Chile, Marianne in Europe) but in 2011, after a Naked Tasting Tour, Connie visited Marianne in Berlin. That trip sparked a tradition of joyful summer reunions – until the sisters realised their strengths were perfectly matched and decided to join forces.
-
Connie’s wines have always been about showing what Chile can do when you treat the fruit (and the people who grow it) properly. They’re high-quality and ridiculously drinkable – the kind Angels come back for again and again. Now her winemaking vision is amplified by Marianne’s creative flair. Giving even more reasons to fall in love with the wines and the women behind them.
