Cotes du Rhone Villages le Pre des Suves 2020
About the wine
Breathing new life into a French classic
- Small-scale artisan winemakers in France are going through their toughest year in living memory. These guys rely on bars and restaurants, wine fairs and tourism to sell their wines, so they’ve really struggled. Millions of bottles of wine are stuck in cellars, going nowhere. That’s why we’ve decided to help.
- This is a gorgeous and strikingly fresh Cotes du Rhone with a real ripeness and complexity that need to be tasted to be believed.
- Inky purple in colour with rich flavours of black cracked pepper, cinnamon and sweet blackberries, that makes for a jammy but delightfully smooth finish. We can see this one as your stock wine to pop on the table alongside a cheeseboard. Never fails to impress!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Claude Serra and Daniel Orsolini
-
With almost 50 years of winemaking experience behind them, and nearly 2 decades working together as a team, Claude and Daniel are seasoned veterans and masters of the art of classic, hands-off French winemaking.
-
Claude is a Rhone Valley winemaking specialist who’d been producing some of the region’s easiest drinkers long before partnering up with Daniel in 2004. So when the pair were offered a handful of vineyards and the chance to return to the Rhone in 2013, they both leapt at the opportunity.
-
They’re passionate champions of the local terroir and grapes - especially Grenache and Carignan - and their aim in every wine is to transport you to their little corner of France. All their wines are an authentic expression of the Rhone, made in the most natural way possible, super elegant and super delicious.
