Chianti Codirosso DOCG 2011
About the wine
- Chianti is possibly the most popular Italian wine outside Italy, but gone are the days of raffia clad bottles in homely Italia restaurants. It's modern, clean and classy all the way.
- Primarily Sangiovese with a few other Tuscan grapes for good measure, this version is a classic. Sweet strawberry and redcurrant flavours, with a spicy oak edge and a long long finish.
- "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti," commented Hannibal Lecter. We prefer Pizza - more conventional but less psychotic
