About the wine
Velvety soft Bordeaux from Saint-Emilion's lesser-known hilltop neighbour
-
If you’re looking for great value out of Bordeaux, it doesn’t get much better than this velvety soft red from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
-
A lesser-known pocket of Bordeaux with a wine history going back to Roman times, Castillon is just a stone’s throw from the celebrated Saint-Emilion appellation - it even sits on the same hill - and shares the exact same limestone soils and climate. So it has the perfect ingredients to produce top-quality Bordeaux wines without the big name price-tag.
-
This 2019 vintage from the Chateau Galot La Chapelle is an easy-drinking blend of Merlot with a dash of Cabernet Franc for added finesse. It almost tastes pure Merlot on the palate, with fresh red fruit flavours and a little hint of spice, velvety soft tannins and great length.

Meet the winemaker - Naked Marketplace
Every week, on our travels or back at HQ, we come across wines that taste amazing but weren’t made for us by Naked winemakers
At the price and quality, we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t make them available to you. So we list them without a winemaker or a story under Naked Marketplace
They’re generally parcels and one-offs, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!
