To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Classy red with bags of finesse from some of the finest grape-growing soils in the world
-
Among the ‘Big Four’ Médoc communes, a small cluster of prestigious wine regions known for their incredible soils and consistently top-quality wines, Saint Julien is seen by many as the most consistent of the lot, producing seriously delicious wines year after year, whatever the weather. This sumptuous red is a prime example.
-
Chateau du Glana is a winery on the rise, which is impressive given its already lengthy history that stretches all the way back to 1870. The current owners - the Meffre family - recognised the potential of the estate’s Saint Julien soils when they bought the place in the 60s. And they’ve since transformed it from a tatty old chateau into a producer of sensational Bordeaux wines like this, truly worthy of the Saint Julien name.
-
One word to describe this wine - finesse. Expressive on the nose, in the mouth it’s soft with a beautiful freshness that’s very well balanced. You’ll find mouthwatering flavours of cassis, liquorice, and bright red berries on the finish, mingled with complex earthy notes too.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ludovic and Julien Meffre
-
Ludovic & Julien are the latest generation of Meffres to take up the family mantle of producing first-class fine wines from some of the most sought-after sites in all of France.
-
It was their grandfather Gabriel who began the family legacy in the mid-20th century. It was he who acquired the historic Chateau du Glana estate - located in the prestigious Saint Julien appellation, with a history stretching back to 1870 - albeit it was in a sorry state at the time.
-
Thankfully, old ‘grand-père’ Gabriel must have had a crystal ball, or maybe he simply recognised the stunning quality and potential of the estate’s Bordeaux soils. Either way, in the years since, this committed winemaking family has restored the site to its former glory. With Ludovic and Julien at the helm now producing fine French wines at some of the best quality for the price that you’ll find in the entire region.
