About the beer
Bold and hoppy IPA from Inverness
- This is Black Isle's interpretation of the classic West Coast Pale Ale. It's brim full of citrus aromas and has a deliciously bittersweet aftertaste; in short, a dreamy combination of big flavours and balance.
- Black Isle are located near Inverness on an organic farm that they use to produce as many of the ingredients for their beers as possible. If you're lucky enough to visit you can meet their herd of sheep who gobble up the spent grains from the brewhouse.
- This is a punchy beer that can stand up to some spice so try pairing it with sweet and sticky bao buns with plenty of sriracha.

Meet the beer maker - Black Isle Brewery
- Black Isle was founded by David Gladwin in 1988 - a beer-lover who dreamed of making exceptional brews that didn't cost the earth.
- The brewery owns 125 acres of certified organic land where they grow the vast majority of the barley they use for brewing themselves - everything extra is bought in from neighboring local farms.
- The folks at black isle feed the spent grain from each brew to their flock of Hebridean sheep who in turn provide wool for staff clothing.
