Stepp Riesling vom Berg 2020
Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Gerd found the perfect vines to make his dream Riesling
- On the south facing slopes of the Rhine Valley sits Gerd's vineyard - with lots of exposure to all the right elements and a winemaker like Gerd Stepp at the helm, you barely need to try the wine to know that the Riesling will be some of the most refreshing around.
- The grapes were organically picked from this single vineyard before Gerd set about using super gentle and low intervention processes to give this Riesling it's characteristic vibrancy and structure.
- Delicate notes of autumn apples, yellow peach with fresh tangy lime on the nose. This Riesling has a lovely crisp acidity and a superb fruity and spicy finish with apple, peach, citrus and ripe pineapple. A wine with great length, texture and structure.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Gerd Stepp
- We found Gerd by accident when we were looking for a top German Pinot Noir and a friend suggested Gerd’s. It came first in a blind tasting of 26 Pinots by Naked Archangels so we bought the lot and ever since Gerd has been making us some of the classiest German wines we’ve ever stocked.
- Naked funding now plays a huge part in his business, because his family vineyard in Pfalz is quite small, so he has to work with 20 other local growers. Being able to pay upfront gives them security, and allows Gerd to plan ahead and secure the best fruit.
- With 30 years in the wine industry, he’s travelled widely and made award-winning drops in dozens of different countries. He’s also a respected wine consultant, flying all over the world advising other wine producers. Decanter first snapped him up as a judge in 2004 and he regularly gets invited back to their Annual Wine Awards so it’s safe to say this guy really knows his stuff!
