Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Discover an exciting new wine from a region that's one of Portugal's best kept secrets
-
If you've never heard of Alentejo before, that's because the natives like to drink most of its wine themselves. The exceptional quality of its kit makes them a staple in up-market Portuguese bars and restaurants, so most of it gets gobbled up by the locals.
-
It's a blend you might not have tasted before, of 60% Alfrocheiro, a native Portuguese grape, 30% Alicante Bouschet, and 10% Touriga Franca, which despite the name also has a good old Portuguese lineage. The palate has a lovely soft and smooth texture. We are talking moreish, easy-drinking heaven, from the master of Portuguese reds.
-
Angel backing over the years meant that in 2020 Luis could build a new high-tech, sustainable winery in Alentejo from scratch. Now he's there on the ground for good, he can share the magic of this region with us every year. At £10.99 a bottle, his Alentejo red should fly out the door.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Luis Vieira
- Luis makes exceptional wines (together with Antonio Ventura) because he gets the pick of the best grapes from the local growers. But how, we hear you ask...
- ...he has the inside knowledge on who has the best grapes. We love his wines, and his bulging little black book of great growers!
- If you're looking to get a whole lotta bang for your buck, look no further... Portuguese wines are truly stunning value, with the only reason for this being that very few are yet to catch on. You're way ahead of the curve, so you might want to get to know Luis now, before he's a household name!
