Katie Jones All Good Things Picpoul Sur Lie 2021
About the wine
Finding this juicy new Picpoul Sur Lie was like love at first taste for our Katie
-
Thanks to our Angels' backing, I'm able to embrace my passion for wine, explore different areas and local appellations, and source wines for my wonderful Angels to discover and love! Finding the All Good Things Picpoul Sur Lie was like love at first taste, and knowing I had the funding from Naked meant I could jump at it and secure this highly coveted wine for the Angels.

Picpoul is one of the oldest domestic grape varieties, grown in the coastal regions of the south of France. It’s normally a light, fresh wine, best drunk young. However, in this offering the Picpoul has more staying power and altogether a richer, fuller flavour and mouthfeel. I wanted to show that Picpoul can be a decadent wine.

A vibrant golden colour, the nose grabs your attention with fresh citrus, white fruit and a refreshing mineral edge. The palate delivers on its promise with a lively zing, followed by honey notes and an elegant richness. Think outdoor barbecue in the evening, the sun has set and you and your circle are enjoying the food, the conversation, and the laughter.

Serving advice

Food match
Traditionally we love this wine with oysters but it's also a must-have for seafood lovers in general and creamy poultry dishes. The bright acidity will cut through the richness of the sauce and the brioche notes will add an umami stroke to the meal. It's also a perfect accompaniment for fish stews, white meat dishes and cheese!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Katie Jones
- Katie’s love of wine led her all the way from Leicestershire to the Languedoc where she bought an idyllic vineyard perched half-way up a hill in Tuchan. In 2013 she experienced every winemaker’s worst nightmare when vandals emptied her entire year’s vintage down the drain.
- She turned to us. And 2,500 Angels helped to get her back on her feet - clubbing together to raise over £200k in just 48 hours. Our Queen of the Languedoc was able to start again and has gone on to make some seriously delicious wines, with sparkly awards a plenty.
- Thanks to her beloved Angels, Katie has been able to nab more hilltop vineyards, expand her range and even move her winemaking operation into an old railway station to fit in more barrels. It’s a long way from the 600 cases of wine she made in her garage in 2009!
