About the wine
An elite Champagne-style sparkling from inside the M25? You better believe it.
-
History in a bottle, party in the glass: Forty Hall's London Brut is the first commercial sparkling wine made in England’s capital since the Middle Ages. It’s so delicious it recently left visiting French wine experts dropping their croissants and muttering a stunned “mon dieu.”
-
It’s 100% organic and hand-tended by over 100 local volunteers at Forty Hall Vineyard, just off the M25. Funnily enough, London’s concrete jungle runs a few degrees warmer than the countryside, creating a little microclimate that coaxes the grapes to perfect ripeness.
-
Aged for 18 months on the lees for a nutty, brioche complexity, to go with crisp notes of apple and rhubarb, this is a premium celebratory fizz that holds its own against France’s best. And by drinking it, you’re backing an incredible social enterprise and passionate community of wine lovers – sounds like exactly our kind of crowd, doesn't it?

Food match
Perfectly compliments fish and chips or macaroni cheese. For a cheeseboard pair with a soft creamy cheese (Emma says Vacherin Mont D'or or an English Camembert-style cheese like Tunworths). Or even better, enjoy on its own - this is a wine to celebrate with!

Meet the winemaker - Emma Lundie
-
Say hello to Emma Lundie. She runs the show at Forty Hall Vineyard – a certified organic social enterprise where over 100 local volunteers tend 14,000 vines entirely by hand to produce world-class sparkling wine in, of all places, Enfield.
-
Yep, that’s right. This is a Greater London wine operation – the capital's first commercial vineyard since the Middle Ages. Turns out, London’s concrete jungle runs a few degrees warmer than the countryside, creating a sneaky microclimate that helps the grapes ripen to absolute perfection. And by ditching harsh chemicals for hard graft and natural biodiversity, they’ve built a brilliant community sanctuary that produces pristine organic fruit.
-
While it’s a community project at heart, the final juice is strictly premium. So delicious that when visiting French wine industry pros recently came to taste it, they were left simply saying “mon dieu”.
