Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Fresh and fragrant red from gloriously pure Sangiovese grapes
- Rosso di Montalcino is an intensely bright and energetic wine with an equally intense and luxurious ruby red colour. It’s a deeply classy, characterful little number that you certainly won’t forget in a hurry.
- The nose is complex with fruity notes of cherries, blackberries and raspberries, all underpinned by delicate floral aromas. The palate is fresh with a crunchy tannic bite and plenty of gloriously concentrated red fruit flavours.
- A champion of the Sangiovese grape, Elia firmly believes in giving its super aromatic quality and heady freshness the attention it truly deserves - he even uses special Slavonian oak barrels to ensure not a millilitre of its authentic character is lost or overpowered by too much oak.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Elia Palazzesi
-
We first tried Elia’s Brunello di Montalcino at a London tasting event and it was so incredibly fresh and elegant that we decided to secure a share for Angels right there and then.
-
His winery is a family affair that’s developed over generations. The land was bought by his great-grandfather in the late 19th century, first farmed by his grandfather, and the very first vines were planted by Elia’s dad in the 1970s. Under Elia’s tutelage, the old family farm has been devoted 100% to grape-growing and become an incredible source of top-quality, organic Montalcino.
-
Elia's been making wines for over 30 years now and he still does much of the work in the vineyard himself. He looks tough when he’s all togged up in his green army t-shirt and khaki pants. But behind that facade he’s an absolute sweetheart and passionate family man who simply loves to make people happy with his wines.
