About the wine
Alexander Valley Cab Sav from the genius behind Penfold's Grange
- Stunningly elegant Cabernet like this is HARD to come by - Daryl first worked with this terraced hillside vineyard in the early 1990s when he was making expensive Alexander Valley Cab for Geyser Peak.
- Your Angel support means that Daryl could contract this unique vineyard for the long term and get first access to this premium Cab. The whole vineyard grows to his exact specifications and is harvested exactly how he wants to. Your funding lets him do everything he needs in the winery to turn this complex, rich Cabernet into an extra smooth, extra soave treat.
- This is your quintessential Alexander Valley Cabernet (think big price tag Cabs outside of Napa like Silver Oak, Geyser Peak, etc.) so it has power and firmness but it's also silky soft with delicate berry flavors mingled in for good measure.
Best before
Drink now to 2035. Lovely drinking now with food especially for a Cab Sav, with most ideal drinking in 3-5 years where the wine has softened and become more complex in bottle, but still retains some fresh fruit vibrance.
Serving advice
Serve at 16-18°C. Open/Decant 1 hour before serving.
Food match
A nice juicy ribeye or lamb loin chops is best but I love it with a hamburger and pizza too. Will not go well with dessert or sweet if drinking young.
