If one man embodies the phrase ‘Naked Legend’, it’s Carlos Rodriguez. Our Mr Rioja has been wowing Angels with his silky-smooth Spanish reds since 2011 - winning Winemaker of the Year in 2012 - and to celebrate his 10 year anniversary, he’s made you an extra-special Crianza with all the classic flavours and textures he knows his Angels will love.

This lush red is summer pudding in a glass, with tempting aromas of strawberry, blackberry, redcurrant and raspberry all rounded off with a nice hit of tea leaves. Then on the palate, all that yummy fruit is lifted with a hint of vanilla and a ripe, velvety texture that slips down such a treat.

Meet the winemaker - Carlos Rodriguez

Before joining the Naked family, Carlos Rodriguez was a leading consultant oenologist. In plain English? He travelled all over Spain helping other people make their wines taste amazing. Despite his success, his ultimate dream was to fund his own winery – although he used to joke he’d need to rob a bank to get the cash.

His life changed in 2010 when someone forwarded him an email from us. He almost deleted it thinking it was spam, but luckily he didn’t and, as he puts it, "the rest is history". Carlos became a Naked legend and achieved the dream he always thought impossible – opening his own winery and making his own wines. All because of people like you.

Best known for his knock-out Riojas, Carlos uses his insider knowledge from years spent on the road to snaffle up the absolute best parcels of grapes Spain has to offer. And when he isn't crafting those award-winning Riojas? He swaps his winemaking hat for "dad duty," spending his weekends cheering on his kids at the football pitch.
