Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Your next white wine obsession - from deep in the Douro
-
Grown high up in the Douro Valley, where the views are stunning and the grapes are even better. This classy field blend of old-vine native grape varieties (Rabigato, Viosinho, Gouveio and Donzelinho Branco) brings freshness, flavour, and a proper taste of Portugal
-
Made the slow, traditional way: wild yeast, old oak barrels, grapes picked by hand… all the wine-geek bells and whistles. But you don’t need to know any of that to know it tastes really special.
-
Pithy in all the right places – think fresh lemons, juicy apples, nectarine and a touch of nuttiness, all wrapped up in a creamy finish. It’s brilliant with rich seafood dishes or anything buttery and herby.

Serving advice
Serve chilled at 10-12°C
Food match
Pairs beautifully with richer seafood dishes, such as cod with cream (bacalhau com natas). It also shines alongside salt-baked fish, roasted poultry, or vegetarian dishes with butter and herbs.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Joao Pires
-
Not many children dream of a career turning grapes into wine, but João Pires knew from an early age he was headed for the vineyard. After completing a degree in winemaking in 2005, he went straight on to his very first vintage.
-
His expressive wines are critically acclaimed, catching the attention of Decanter who awarded one of his Portuguese classics an almost unheard of 97%-rating and platinum medal.
-
João's winemaking career is centred in the region where he was born and raised. The Douro native knows the land like the back of his hand and knows all the best grape-growing spots - he's involved in every aspect of winemaking, from hours tending the vines to bottling the wines, it's a labour of love.
