Denis' big occasion 1.5L Côtes du Rhône corker is a total head-turner
- Cairanne shares the same terroir, climate and weather, as three of the most famous (and expensive) appellations in French wine. All it needed was a world-class winemaker to recognise it's incredible untapped potential... Enter Denis.
- Since Denis took the helm, Carianne has won its own appellation status and the wines it produces have been turning some pretty famous heads. And with very good reason - take one sip of Denis' Camille Cayran La Reserve Cru Cairanne 2019 and you'll agree that it's everything you could want in a big occasion Christmas red. As lush and moreish as it is grown-up and classy, we just couldn't resist serving this beauty up in 1.5L magnum size style.
- The aromas and flavours are intense and concentrated. Think black cherry, blackberry and forest fruits. Earthiness. Spice. Hints of wild herb and black olive unique to the southern Rhône. Then you get the vanilla, the liquorice, a twist of pepper. The tannins are subtle and velvety and the finish is long and satisfying. This is one super-classy red.

Meet the winemaker - Denis Crespo
- In 2015, a popular winery in the area was in a spot of bother and in need of a helping hand. Denis took up the job of winemaker and turned their old school French winery into a modern business and is already producing some spectacular wines.
- For what he has achieved, he is a very humble man who likes nothing better than a delicious meal with his family and covering some serious distance on his bike. His dream is simply to make fruity, juicy, easy-drinking wines that everyone can enjoy and he is so happy to share them with Angels.
- He was never going to be kept a secret for long and the big dogs of the industry are already cosying up to him with pleading puppy eyes. Trust us, this is just the beginning for Denis and we couldn’t be more excited!
