About the wine
This plush Cab Sauv blend comes with a heartfelt thank you, for bailing Reenen out in his time of need
-
After you saved his small family winery from the depths of lockdown strife, Reenen wants to send a big South African ‘Dankie!’ to his Angel heroes. He’s knocked up this extra-special blend just for you, using premium grapes from his family’s Stellenbosch vineyards.
-
This sumptuously smooth wine is brimming with aromas of ripe red fruit and tongue-tingling spice from French oak. The mouthfeel is soft as velvet, and the lush fruity flavour is a nod towards fine Bordeaux-style wine.
-
Reenen’s Gratitudo would fit in at a posh French restaurant but it’s been made specially for you, to sit pride of place on your dinner table. Our tip is to heat up the cast-iron skillet and enjoy this wine with the juiciest steak you can lay your hands on, pan-fried with garlic butter, mushrooms and thyme.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Reenen Borman
Reenen Borman is one of the rising stars of the South Africa wine scene. He made the highest-rated South African red wine ever scored by Tim Atkin, who called him "one of the most talented young winemakers in the world" – high praise from one of the UK’s leading wine boffins.
Reenen’s Boschkloof estate, on the edge of Stellenbosch, is a true family-run winery. Reenen makes the wines, his dad Jacques tends to the grapes, and his mum Marina and wife Marli run the office.
Reenen sells 90% of his wine to restaurants and bars around the world – so the sudden global closures posed an enormous risk to his family-run winery. Your support will be a total game-changer for his small business.
