Welcome to the Chequers Pub, home of the Son of Sid brewery. It has been owned and run by the same family for 60 years. The unspoilt middle bar, with its wooden bench seating and roaring fire, is a favourite spot to pick up on the local gossip. The pub's 'Son of Sid' brewhouse brews for the pub and the occasional beer festivals. Fish and chips are a highlight on Friday night (booking essential), and Real cider is always available.
