We are a family run, award winning, artisan brewery based in Henham (Hertfordshire/Essex border) which produces a range of heritage ales with a contemporary twist. Using only the finest floor malted barley and English hops a range of real ales has been created to satisfy all palates from the session drinker to the connoisseur. Put simply, our philosophy is to produce delicious ales in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our team of artisan brewers source the finest ingredients (locally whenever possible). All of our beers contain British hops, many of which are certified organic. We do add additional continental varieties to a few of our beers to provide that extra bit of variety. Our nearest supplier of malt is a farm only 4 miles away. Our lovely Henham Honey, contains honey from the village bees, we can't get more local than that. We do not use any nasty chemicals or additives, so we can deliver our beer in the purest possible state. Did we forget to mention, we love recycling too. Our used malt is used to feed the cows on the farm and our waste water is return to the river via a system of reed beds. All in all, we are quite proud of our green credentials. We are a family run business, so all have a vested interest in making the brewery is the best it can be for the next generation of Hoskins. We look to combine the reliability and consistency of a larger brewery, with the friendliness and flexibility of a small company.
