Merrimen Brewing was launched by friends of 20 years, Alan Mellors and Andy Taylor who acquired the existing eight-barrel plant in the small village of Litchborough, Northampton in November 2013. Neither of the friends had any experience of brewing, only knowing what a good beer tasted like. Both came from different business backgrounds:> *Andy, already operates a successful business building planters used in residential, business and large retail / commercial premises - see http://taylormadeplanters.co.uk/ *Alan, worked in sales the UK and overseas, with the four previous years spent working overseas. Both business partners were looking for a new challenge and the thought of owning a microbrewery really appealed to their sense of adventure. What started out as an adventure has now turned into a successful brewing business, supplying quality cask ales to pubs across Northampton, Rugby, Daventry, Banbury, Coventry, Warwick, Leamingtom, Kenilworth and Southam. Merrimen Brewing also sell their own cask ales and guest ales from other micro-breweries when attending food and drink festivals across the region, selling from their mobile bar with six hand pumps. All Merrimen ales are brewed using traditional brewing methods, with the Merrimen's own tried and tested recipes. We hope that you will enjoy our range of moreish and quaffable ales. All our beers have been analysed by Everards Brewery, with full tasting notes published by Cyclops Beer - see: http://www.cyclopsbeer.co.uk

Why pay more?
Our Angels support independent winemakers by investing £25 a month into their Naked Wines account, to spend whenever they want - in return for discounts, freebies, exclusive wines and more.
Smart move - you've found the Sweet Spot
When it comes to wine, a small step in price = a HUGE leap in quality and taste.
By spending £8-£11 for a bottle of wine, you're actually getting more than DOUBLE the quality of wine than a £6-£7 bottle.
Here's how it works...
In your average £6-£7 wine most of the price goes on fixed costs like taxes, duty, bottling and transport... leaving fewer pennies for the wine itself.
But by spending just a pound or two more, the majority of those fixed costs stay the same, so more pennies are going straight into the stuff you can actually taste, creating a big leap in quality.
