Kellys Mountain Brew is an independent family run micro brewery founded by Ronan and Jacqui Kelly. Ronan always had an interest in home brewing and used to brew small batches of beer in the wilds of Donegal where he is from. When not living on a mountain brewing beer he worked as an engineer and both he and Jacqui ended up living in the Middle East in Qatar for a number of years. While it was possible to purchase alcohol it was next to impossible to find craft beer in Qatar so the only time Ronan managed to indulge himself in his passion for craft beer was on trips home. A chance encounter while home in Ireland for a holiday led to Ronan meeting our master brewer Joe and the start of a great partnership. An idea was formulated by Ronan and Jacqui to return home and start a micro brewery. With Ronan's love of craft beer, his engineering skills and Joe's experience of brewing beer for over 30 years for a brewery based in St James Gate in Dublin (they are kinda small you probably never heard of them) it was a match made in beer heaven. Ronan and Joe set about designing the brewery themselves, sourcing the equipment they needed and in some instances custom building their own equipment to ensure their design plans were met. After a lot of hard work and collaboration between Ronan and Joe our first beer Justice Pale Ale was brewed, bottled and ready to be sold at the end of July 2014.
