Emmanuales is possibly the smallest brewery in the United Kingdom, deep in the heart of God's own county: Yorkshire. Who am I? My name is Nick Law. And I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a Christian; I am musician, producer and songwriter; I am a storyteller, a photographer and graphic designer, a web developer, a creative, a half hearted coffee snob… And a brewer of beers of Biblical proportions. What Would Jesus Brew? Emmanuales is a nano brewery in the cellar in the suburbs of Sheffield with one aim: to brew beers of biblical proportions to the glory of God. I believe that all good gifts come from God. I'm not out to beat you over the head with Holy Writ. I'm not out to convert' you. I don't think that alcohol is an abomination and that those who consume it will burn in the fires of hell (though it has the tendency to be misused). I simply want to bring together the Good News with the good brews. Christians have long been associated with the brewing of beer. From the great reformer, Martin Luther, who brewed many ales with his wife; the Trappist monks who brewed as an act of worship and a way to fund their ministry; to Arthur Guinness who founded a brewery that had a strong work and ministry ethic (mostly!), I aim to carry on this great tradition of hospitality and joy through the ales I create. Try Emmanuales. Try Alepha. Some people may find Emmanuales offensive. But so was Jesus. Jesus often offended the religious zealots of his time by hanging out with unsavory characters and proclaiming that they were entering the kingdom of heaven before the vicars and priests of his day. Jesus went to parties and social events like everyday folk, and on one occasion even turned water into wine without fermentation (I'm still trying to learn that one, it would make the process a whole heap quicker!).
