Brass Castle Brewery mashes grains, boils hop charges, pitches yeast, racks into casks and does an awful lot of cleaning, right in the centre of Malton. The result is a range of award-winning beers that find their way all around the UK. When it began life in a garage on Brass Castle Hill in Pocklington in 2011, the brewery produced four casks at a time. Within two months Brass Castle had won Champion Beer at the York CAMRA Beer Festival. Within six months, brewing moved to Lord Halifax's historic Garrowby Estate brewhouse and now, two years later, Brass Castle is based in Malton town centre. At full tilt the microbrewery can produce 200 casks of beer a week. In addition to a wide range of cask ales, some beers are bottled and others are put into kegs. All the beer produced at Brass Castle is vegan and vegetarian friendly. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our brewery processes.
