About this case
- Francois’ grower’s farm sits on one of the most sought after sites in Stellenbosch, on the Helderberg mountain. Her grapes would normally go into expensive high-end wines. But the South African alcohol ban left her with no home for her 2021 crop. She needed to find a home for the grapes, fast. Or else they’d be lost for good...
- Thanks to you lovely Angels, I was able to get out my cheque book and buy up the lot. We saved the grower from hardship, and Francois turned the premium fruit into his classy Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc 2021. I even managed to wangle a small parcel of his superb Stellenbosch Syrah to boot. Talk about a win win.
